Miller joins Brach Eichler, boosting its health care practice

Tracy Miller, a former general counsel for Catholic Health, a large, integrated delivery system on Long Island, has joined Brach Eichler as counsel in its Healthcare Law Practice Group.

John Fanburg, Brach Eichler’s managing member and one of the state’s top health care lawyers, applauded the announcement.

“We are thrilled to announce a talented addition to Brach Eichler’s thriving Healthcare Law practice and welcome Tracy Miller,” he said. “Her arrival marks another exciting chapter for our growing Healthcare Law practice, which strengthens our offerings and complements our steadfast commitment to client service.

“Ms. Miller’s experience as EVP & General Counsel of a large health system, law firm partner and health policy leader in New York State informs the advice she provides clients to realize their business, strategic and operations goals. She can leverage Brach Eichler’s deep and broad health care experience to further meet our client’s needs and serve new clients.”

A highly skilled health care attorney with more than 35 years of health care legal experience, Miller concentrates her practice on a wide variety of transactional, corporate, and regulatory matters. Her clients have included integrated delivery systems, hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician practices, hospice programs, independent practice associations, and organizations comprised of 100+ health care and social service providers formed to coordinate care as part of state health reform.

Miller, a graduate of Harvard Law School and Brown University, will provide guidance on corporate governance, state and federal health laws and other regulatory matters.

At Catholic Health, her responsibility for legal services spanned corporate governance, transactions, affiliations, physician contracts and alignment, complex vendor contracts, cybersecurity and data privacy, corporate and regulatory compliance, human subjects research, AI and patient care.

She began her health care legal career as executive director of the New York State Governor’s Task Force on ethics in medicine that crafted New York’s laws and regulations on end-of-life care and other issues at the intersection of law, medicine and ethics.

Miller is the former Chair of the 1,100-member Health Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and serves on the Section’s Executive Committee.

“I look forward to drawing on my significant expertise ranging from big picture initiatives to concrete operational issues to help our clients navigate the challenges they face and thrive in today’s complex health care environment,” she said. “I am thrilled to assist clients as they lay the foundation to attain their business and operational goals.”
